Lindsay Lohan Lost Her Ridiculous Court Case Against Grand Theft Auto! Get The Legal Deets!

Poor If you remember waaaaaay back virtually three full years ago, LiLo had sued the producers of the popular video game, alleging they based a character off her image, name, and likeness and, by doing so without her permission or paying her for it, had infringed her privacy. Gravano, the daughter of famous mobster Sammy “The Bull” Gravano , initially alleged the same thing about a separate character in the game in a separate lawsuit against GTA , though magistrates aimed up blending the two battles because they were on such similar issues. Now, based on Thursday’s ruling from a panel of magistrates in the Manhattan Appellate Division ‘s court, LiLo and Gravano have officially lost their court combat — and they are entitled to nothing! Noting the game’s usage of characters does not “fall under the statutory definition of ‘advertising’ or ‘trade, ‘” the panel of magistrates decreed:

Furthermore, in Lohan’s case specifically, the magistrates ruled that Lacey Jonas — the game’s ditzy character that LiLo claims was inspired by her — was actually:

“not of Lohan herself, but simply the avatar in the game that Lohan claims is a depiction of her.”

Well then — a three-year legal combat is done, and Miz Lohan is none the richer for it. Can’t win ’em all! [ Image via Dennis Van Tine/ Future Image/ Joe/ WENN .] Read more:
